  • Finding the positives in students.
  • Timing is critical.
  • Give the test a day later is optimal. It allows for processing and reflection.
  • Spiraling is very beneficial.
  • The language is important. Rather than calling it a "test," it could be called a "learning opportunity." The students are having learning opportunities to show what they know.
  • Rubrics are intended to increase objectivity, but they are still subjective.
